Since 2010, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families cope with life changes, as well as achieve their health and wellness goals.
My practice

Hi, my name is Cindy Hernandez and I was born and raised in Malaysia, went to school in Australia, and here I am, practicing Psychology in America!
Since 2010, I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work and learn from some amazing psychologists and therapists in this field. I have learned about building healthy relationships from Dr. Robert Sternberg, to effectively resolving generational resentment from Dr. Mona Weissmark, to engaging in effective mindfulness techniques from Dr. Steven Szykula from Comprehensive Psychological Services.
What better way to utilize these experiences but to incorporate them in my practice?
So I decided to build this practice, Aspire Psychological, with you in mind.
I am committed in helping each and everyone of you succeed by incorporating some of my most relevant skills and knowledge in our sessions. I am dedicated to ensure that you walk out of every session feeling like you are getting closer to living the life that you want.
First of all, you don't deserve to experience life in ways that it is hard to wake up to. Sometimes life hits us with so many lemons that we get buried deep within them! That is usually also when we start to feel trapped, stuck, and unable to effectively navigate our way out.
This is where I can help.
I will help you assess each of those lemons- help you throw away those that are rotten, help you juice those that are ripe, and help you plant the remaining seeds to grow a healthier lemon tree (which signifies new life)!
I apply a wide range of endeavors, including building rapport and applying scientifically-proven therapeutic approaches in my practice. I work closely with my patients in taking interest in helping each and everyone of them achieve their version of their life goals. I also help mentally and emotionally distressed patients adjust to life changes, illnesses or injuries. Some of my specialties include treating patients with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, marital/relational problems, LGBTQ concerns and others.
I take pride in carefully design and implement empirically validated treatments to individuals, couples, and families. Some of the therapeutic orientations I practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Person Centered Therapy.
